Résumé

Introduction: The aim of this study was to determine the clinical and therapeutic aspects of inguinolabial hernias in intersex individuals. Clinical case: A 4-year-old girl presented with a painful, irreducible, congenital left inguinolabial swelling associated with intersex individuals. A preoperative assessment was performed. After general anesthesia, the hernia was spontaneously reduced. During surgery, the sac contained the uterus and ovaries, which were adhered to it. The procedure involved suturing the hernial sac and then repositioning it, followed by repair with abdominal wall reinforcement. The postoperative course was uneventful. No postoperative complications were observed after 1, 3, and 6 months of follow-up. Conclusion: Strangulated inguinolabial hernias in infants with intersex individuals are rare. The diagnosis is clinical and paraclinical, and the treatment is surgical and multidisciplinary. Mass screening for hernias could lead to certain discoveries, as it is considered a shameful or evil condition in some societies.
